All of the counselors are experienced and have CASAC (Certified Alcohol & Substance Abuse Counselor) training. Our counselors are carefully chosen and are trained in behavioral modification to ensure that our guests receive the best counseling available and have reset a solid base to build a sober life on. Our Clinical Director has almost 25 years in the business and has served in practically every capacity including running a 225 bed facility. He knows from first-hand experience the inadequacies of many facilities in operation today and feels this approach offers the keys to success that are missing in the continuum of services offered today.
Our guests who follow the RPP plan we help them create have a 100% success rate.
RPP or Relapse Prevention Plan is essentially a map for what each individual guests wants to accomplish in their life. Our counselors help guide each guest through the creation of a detailed plan on what goals are important to the individual and what steps are necessary to ensure they are achieved. This includes a plan for how to avoid tempting situations, and what to do when temptations are encountered.
There is a world of difference, but let’s cover a few bullet points to address this question?
-Small Facility is flexible enough to focus on individual needs… Our guests are not lost in a huge “Caseload”.
-One on one time: Most facilities are focused on a group approach to reduce expensive counselor fees. At NYRH you see and interact with your counselor every day. One on One time with a counselor and/or the clinical director is available every day.
-The approach at many facilities is to force the individual to conform to a set system that is the same for everyone. At NYRH our counselors help guide each guest to create a system customized to the needs of the individual.
-A very close look at behavioral activity helps reveal “triggers” and enablers that lead to undesirable behavior. By learning to recognize these triggers our guests can help themselves avoid situations that inevitably lead to usage. Additionally, it enables our guests to create positive behavior patterns that ensure a successful productive and sober lifestyle.
-Accommodations are much more comfortable than the bloated insurance mill facilities that are not focused on the comfort of their guests throughout the stay.
